My EPRO8 Experience

                                                =EPRO8 EXPERIENCE=

———————————————————————————————————

                                                             MONDAY-

———————————————————————————————————–

On the 8th of may we had 6 big black boxes that were shaped like coffins in our classroom. The name was EPRO8. Our teacher gave us a challenge and a starter video where we can learn the basics!

But first we had to make up our teams. My team was Fe’ao, Alyvia, Ahamani and I. The second team was Laura, Francheska, Wycliffe and Anderaus. Third team was Vaha, Angel, Matalena and Nicole. Fourth team was Justine, Joyla and Grace.

Once we were done we had to watch the starter video. We got started straight away with EPRO8. First we made a box out of aluminium pipes that were cubic shaped. There were 700mm ones 400mm 200mm. We made it 700mm tall and 400mm wide. We put it all together with red joiners after that we stabilized it with blue joiners but the tricky part was adding the bolts and nuts. After that we worked on the complicated work of the gears, wheels, pulleys. The day has ended, I am excited for the next day.

                                                             TUESDAY-

Our next challenge was blowing up a hut, not actually it was a rainy day so we just worked on EPRO8 like the basics. Start with a box then connect with red joiners stabilize with more aluminium pipes and blue joiners. Then we decided to put wheels on it so we could move it easily.

Once the box was done we had to put more aluminium pipes because there was going to be a flood. Not in real life we had to make it 700mm tall for the base. Once we did that we had to stabilize it more. Which was really bad because we nearly ran out of pipes. We decided to remove the stabilizers and conserve the pipes. But we had to take it apart because we were already done. The day had ended.

                                                             WEDNESDAY-

Next challenge we had to build a truck. With a tray that moves so we got to work we started with the body and the cab. It was very difficult Alyvia was working on the tray but she said it was hard too. So Fe’ao was helping her then we finished, the tray was done now onto the cab and the body of the cab was easy. Now onto the hard parts we had to connect the tray plus make it move just like a truck. We asked our teacher if he could help with it and he said yes! So he told us to follow the instructions very carefully so we watched piece by piece and we finally got it but it wasn’t complete. The day has ended.

                                    THURSDAY- *afternoon*

———————————————————————————————————–

The year sevens have just finished tech and were on to more EPRO8 so we continued our trucks took a while but all four teams were done. Our trucks were done. We tested it and they all moved up and down just like a garbage truck.

The sad part was having to take it apart again. But it was the end of EPRO8. We had no more time to do it but it was fun while it lasted. We had to pack up all the things and put them from 1 to 6 boxes. It was great.

                                                               -REVIEW-

———————————————————————————————————–

EPRO8 was awesome. I really hope I can do this next year. It was really cool experiencing being an architect. One of the hard parts was the gears and wheels, the easiest part was the red and blue joiners.
