ki o rahi

Last Thursday a woman named coach Chelsea taught us how to play some games but they weren’t related to ki o rahi, the game we were meant to play.

At first, we watched a video that told us the story of Rahi and Tiara. It was about a guy stealing Tiara and Rahi who is trying to save her. That is most of it. After the video we went outside and played a tagging game.

There were two teams, Kiowa and Taniwha. The rules were to choose a team then the two teams were back to back and if she shouted Kioma,  then that team would run until the end of the canopy and Taniwha people would try and chase them down. If she shouted Taniwha then that team would do the same thing. We played that for 3 rounds and then we stopped. I was tired after that game and since it was raining we all stopped.

Then we all said bye and that was it. MY HEART WAS POUNDING. It was really fun though.

My YOE poster

A YOE poster is an activity for students to do. Our teacher told us to make our own posters so we all took our pencils and a lot of  a3 paper. It took a long time but we got it done here is how it turned out.

My EPRO8 Experience

                                                =EPRO8 EXPERIENCE=

———————————————————————————————————

                                                             MONDAY-

———————————————————————————————————–

On the 8th of may we had 6 big black boxes that were shaped like coffins in our classroom. The name was EPRO8. Our teacher gave us a challenge and a starter video where we can learn the basics!

But first we had to make up our teams. My team was Fe’ao, Alyvia, Ahamani and I. The second team was Laura, Francheska, Wycliffe and Anderaus. Third team was Vaha, Angel, Matalena and Nicole. Fourth team was Justine, Joyla and Grace.

Once we were done we had to watch the starter video. We got started straight away with EPRO8. First we made a box out of aluminium pipes that were cubic shaped. There were 700mm ones 400mm 200mm. We made it 700mm tall and 400mm wide. We put it all together with red joiners after that we stabilized it with blue joiners but the tricky part was adding the bolts and nuts. After that we worked on the complicated work of the gears, wheels, pulleys. The day has ended, I am excited for the next day.

                                                             TUESDAY-

———————————————————————————————————–

Our next challenge was blowing up a hut, not actually it was a rainy day so we just worked on EPRO8 like the basics. Start with a box then connect with red joiners stabilize with more aluminium pipes and blue joiners. Then we decided to put wheels on it so we could move it easily.

Once the box was done we had to put more aluminium pipes because there was going to be a flood. Not in real life we had to make it 700mm tall for the base. Once we did that we had to stabilize it more. Which was really bad because we nearly ran out of pipes. We decided to remove the stabilizers and conserve the pipes. But we had to take it apart because we were already done. The day had ended.

                                                             WEDNESDAY-

———————————————————————————————————–

Next challenge we had to build a truck. With a tray that moves so we got to work we started with the body and the cab. It was very difficult Alyvia was working on the tray but she said it was hard too. So Fe’ao was helping her then we finished, the tray was done now onto the cab and the body of the cab was easy. Now onto the hard parts we had to connect the tray plus make it move just like a truck. We asked our teacher if he could help with it and he said yes! So he told us to follow the instructions very carefully so we watched piece by piece and we finally got it but it wasn’t complete. The day has ended.

                                    THURSDAY- *afternoon*

———————————————————————————————————–

The year sevens have just finished tech and were on to more EPRO8 so we continued our trucks took a while but all four teams were done. Our trucks were done. We tested it and they all moved up and down just like a garbage truck.

The sad part was having to take it apart again. But it was the end of EPRO8. We had no more time to do it but it was fun while it lasted. We had to pack up all the things and put them from 1 to 6 boxes. It was great.

                                                               -REVIEW-

———————————————————————————————————–

EPRO8 was awesome. I really hope I can do this next year. It was really cool experiencing being an architect. One of the hard parts was the gears and wheels, the easiest part was the red and blue joiners.

ANZAC day

ANZAC day means to me that we are honoring the soldiers who were in the war. I was very inspired that they were very brave. Plus I wonder if the soldiers are in heaven.

Anzac day is also a day to eat cookies (in my opinion ).

ANZAC day means Australian New Zealand Army Corps. The traditional flowers for ANZAC day are poppies. Poppies grew on the battlefields of turkey in WW1 many Australian soldiers  died during the war. The poppy sends a message about remembering people who have died in the wars.

On the topic of ANZAC day this is how to make ANZAC biscuits. I got this recipe from  https://www.chelsea.co.nz/browse-recipes/anzac-bisc/                                      ingredients are

1 cup Standard Grade Flour (150g)

1 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon

1 3/4 cups rolled oats (210g)

1 cup desiccated coconut (100g)

1/2 cup Chelsea White Sugar or Chelsea Raw Sugar (113g)

1/4 cup (firmly packed) Chelsea Soft Brown Sugar (50g)

125g Tararua Butter, cubed

1/4 cup Chelsea Golden Syrup (tin) (90g)

2 Tbsp water

1 tsp Edmonds Baking Soda

The method is to Preheat the oven to 150°C bake. Line 2 large baking trays with baking paper.

In a medium-sized bowl, sift together the flour and cinnamon. Add the rolled oats, coconut and sugars; mix well.

Place butter, Chelsea Golden Syrup and water in a small saucepan and stir over low-medium heat until the butter melts and the mixture is well combined (ensure the mixture does not simmer or boil).

Remove from heat and stir in the baking soda. Add immediately to the dry ingredients and use a wooden spoon to stir until well combined.

Roll 1-2 tablespoons of mixture into balls and place on trays about 5cm apart. Use your fingers to flatten each slightly (until they are about 1 cm thick). Bake for 16 minutes (for a chewy biscuit) or 20 minutes for a crunchie biscuit.

Allow to cool on trays for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely. Store in an airtight container for up to a week.

My Fair Chocolate Poster

On march 29th 2023 I did some art for the reading activity Fair Chocolate. I started first confused or maybe puzzled on what I’m going to draw but I just remembered that there were instructions. So I looked at the instructions and i knew exactly what to do.

I was gonna do how chocolate was made! First I made a flowchart, second started with the writing, then I did the sketches for the decor to make it pop! Once I was finished Mr Bell told me to start boldening so I started boldening it took me 30 minutes to finish it but the day had ended so I had to continue tomorrow.

After the night had passed and headed to school i quickly worked on my poster now it was time to color!  Took me 45 minutes to do after that I was finally done I rushed over to my teacher and showed it the job was done.

The 175 jubilee

What i did over saturday and not go to the special picnic well.. First I cooked some fried rice while wearing some pj’s . When I was done cooking I tried it was good but not perfect. Then I just wandered around the house. Yes, I’m crazy.

A few hours later I hear my brother’s steps and he goes up to me and says mamung ( that’s filipino for big brother) “why did you leave me” i respond because i don’t wanna sleep anymore wanna walk around he’s says “okay” then he waddled away then i watched some tv.

A few minutes later while i’m watching MR BEAST

(aka skitsy) then i hear a little.. AAAAAAAAAA it went on for maybe 3 seconds? I quickly rushed to the area and I saw a skink on her bed. My instant thought was.. (You know how there is like a fight flight freeze? I chose to fight) so I grabbed a nearby weapon and spanked it HARD. I gave it the 1 2 honest punch I saved the day. But she got mad because I ruined her bed. B R U H.

On to sunday!

On Sunday I was woken by my parents. They told me to change. I say “ MUM I JUST WOKE UP my parents, their faces blank. Being the good boy that i am wink wink so i changed , brushy brush my teethy toothy

A few minutes later My Family and I hopped into the car and we drove to the jubilee

When we got there I quickly rushed to the church and I went to Ms George and Miss bullot so me and my brother went to our seats and attended mass.  After the mass we went to the hall and performed karanga E and mo maria and many more. After that we did not wait for the food and we just went home and cooked. THE END
